T-Systems provides a central IT platform for corporate governance to Bank Austria. The new platform simplifies collaboration for employees in Central and Eastern Europe.
As part of the UniCredit Group, Bank Austria is responsible for Central and Eastern Europe from Azerbaijan to Poland and from Austria to Estonia. Bank Austria commissioned T-Systems to set up a corporate-wide IT corporate governance platform. The platform links branches in Austria with those in Central and Eastern Europe. The idea is to enable all participants to work together more effectively regardless of their location and give them a comprehensive overview of company policy. UniCredit has the largest international banking network in Central and Eastern Europe with over 4,000 branches.
A clear overview of complex policies
Individual authorization ensures that governance policy protects daily business activities dealing with granting credit, financing, risk management and securities from unauthorized access. The underlying business processes are precisely defined and stored on the central IT platform. "To us at Bank Austria, the topic of governance is strategic and relevant to the entire company. Banking regulations and the adjustment process have become much more complex over the past few years. It's no longer enough to communicate with our employees via e-mail. That's why we decided to have T-Systems develop this new corporate platform," explains Herbert Hangel, Head Global Banking Services at Bank Austria.
